Wireless Segmentation

Project Leader: Tom Golson

Project Duration: Q2 2017 – Q2 2018

Scope of Work: On a given (non-game) day, ~90,000 people are on campus and are accessing the network with >200,000 mobile devices. A low percentage of these devices are owned or managed by the university. These unmanaged devices connect via a wireless network that coexists with the network that houses the university's most important data. Updating wireless network security is needed to ensure the overall security of the TAMU network, and the teaching, research, and administrative functions that utilize the network. This project supports the strategic initiative, "Improve the security of Wi-Fi connections to protect our campus network."
