New Legislation Related to Cybersecurity

In early June, 2017, the Governor signed two bills related to cybersecurity passed in the 85th Regular Session of the Texas Legislature. House Bill 8 includes new provisions requiring that an institution's information security plan be acknowledged by executive management. It also requires institutions of higher education to adopt and implement a policy for Internet website and mobile application security procedures.
